[Me without make up and photoshop]

Welcome to my blog!

Allow me to introduce myself to you: I’m Mylanqolia aka Massu and I’m a 35 year-old art historian from Germany. I started as a beauty blogger 6 years ago but I’m more interested in photography and DIY now. Apart from that, I love meeting my friends and nice people, reading books about art, psychology, foreign/ ancient cultures and history, writing poems or short stories, watching films and tv series (Game of Thrones is my ultimate fave), going to medieval markets or gigs and listening to music (e.g. QOTSA, NIN, Beirut, Chelsea Wolfe, When Saints Go Machine etc.). I’d like to end my short introduction with my favourite saying of Friedrich Schiller: „If you cannot please everyone with your deeds and your art, please a few. To please many is bad.“ See you again!

Herzlich Willkommen auf meinem Blog!

Erlaube mir, mich vorzustellen. . QOTSA, NIN, Beirut, Chelsea Wolfe, When Saints Go Machine etc.).

Alles Liebe, Mylanqolia

* Reviews:

My reviews mainly deal with make up products but I also write about other items. My aim is to be honest and not to seduce anyone to buy everything.

Hi! I like your blog & I wanted to let you know about the FABB Network (Fashion And Beauty Bloggers Network). It’s basically a social network for bloggers of our “particular breed”. I’d very much like you to join. Approved bloggers have their feeds added to the Network’s feed, so their posts, as well as links to their blog, are displayed on the homepage, plus they can receive an invitation to join the private group for approved bloggers. The link to the network is below, if you want to take a look. If you’re interested in joining, feel free to shoot me an eMail (there’s an “eMail Me” link on my site.). Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hi,

I just want to say that I just loooooooooooove your blog!! Although those ‘art’ eyes are beautiful and so talented it is not my cup of tea😉 and that is why I especially love your other work! You are a great inspiration, especially when you think that most of the people use those High End brands that not every1 can afford! also, you do show that expensive isn’t always better!
    Hugs,

    Kim

      Dear Kim,
thanks so much for your compliments on my strange blog. They mean a lot to me. Ok, different people have different preferences. So I don’t expect all visitors to like my mad fun looks. Don’t worry! I’m sure you aren’t the only one who can’t really relate to them.😉 But I hope that I can show more standard EOTDs very soon though I’m more into the nude eye make up look latey. I’m too lazy to do something creative in the early mornings… Nevertheless, I’ll fight my inner couch potato and present some normal emus! Any suggestions with reference to colour or style? Let me know.
      Stay beautiful!

    Hi,

I’m sorry if it took a bit long to answer but I was lazy lately😉 Shame on me!
About the tutorials: I don’t care if they are more to the neutral side or for evening-wear. I like both and i’m not scared to wear any color🙂
Colors I love are: Greens, Purples, Turqoise, golds (also including copper & bronze).
I’m looking forward to what you will come up with! Thanks beforehand!

Oh, c’mon, it’s no problem! I understand that your life doesn’t consist of visiting my blog.😉 But thanks so much that you’ve joined me again.🙂 Thanks also for the important information on your colour preferences. I see that you’re very flexible and open-minded about colour choices which makes it easier for me to do a nice eye make up look. As soon as I have more spare time I’ll dedicate myself to it. So stay stuned!🙂

Love this blog!!! I was wondering if you have any advice for girls who want to wear eyeshadow during the day but wear glasses?

    • mylanqolia April 5, 2011 at 4:55 pm #

Oh, thanks so much. I feel flattered now. *blush* Concerning your question I can say that it depends on the eyeshape and the form of ametropia. Besides, the type of spectactle frame (prominent, colourful or decent) is crucial as well. At first I have to say that it isn’t recommended to use ultra matte or very dark eyeshadows with reagard to deep set eyes in combination with myopia. The eyes look smaller, lifeless and deeper. The perfect zombie eyes if you ask me.😉 So, using neutral (browns, cream colours, mauve, grey), light and shimmery eyeshadows will accentuate the eyes in a perfect way. I prefer colourful eyeshadows as my glasses “swallow” the colour intensity. As I have a black frame it won’t be very risky to choose them. But if someone has a colourful sprectacle frame it’s wiser to do a more neutral eye make up with a touch of colour. Unfortunately, I can’t say anything about eye make ups that work for girls/ ladies with hyperopia. It’s the best to ask google or to search for youtube videos if you suffer from hyperopia. At least, the only way to find the right method or technique for you is to experiment. It won’t hurt and won’t cost you a fortune if you choose drugstore make up.😉 So, have fun and stay beautiful!

    • mylanqolia July 4, 2011 at 12:51 am #

    • mylanqolia August 11, 2011 at 7:20 pm #
