Schneevante’s Short Review on the P2 Color Victim Nail Polish 541 Night Out [Eng/ Ger]

Hey beauties!

Today I am honored to write my first-ever guest-blogposting for the lovely Mylanqolia! I’m a little nervous but I hope I will live up to expectations.  I will show you a beautiful dark blue creme shade of P2′s permanent nail polish collection called 541 “Night Out”.

At first, I name some specifications:

I must admit: I’m usually a glitter girl. When I look at nail polish bottles and something sparkles in them, I fall in love. But: there is nothing wrong with a clean and shiny creme colour every now and then – especially in autumn and winter, when there is hardly any sun to bring the sparkles to life. Also, dark creme colours are perfect as base colours for… guess what? Glitter Top Coats of course! Haha – I’ll show you later what I mean!

So, back to “Night Out”. The colour can be described as a muted/smokey greyish dark blue – the perfect shade for  autumn and winter! I love the application of it (almost all P2 Color Victim polishes apply beautifully!) and I only needed two coats. The drying time is excellent. The finish is not superglossy but I like that. I didn’t use any base or top coat for the pictures. The first picture shows the colour in the shade, the second one in sunlight.

I am pretty impressed about the fact that I wore this 3 days without any chipping – the surface started getting dull though. That’s when I love to put a glitter over it to be able to wear it some more. I put one coat of Sinful Colors 831 “Hottie” on top and I loved it! Looks like a starry night sky. Very pretty!

I love this nail polish and I surely will be wearing it more often!

Ich fühle mich geehrt, dass ich heute mein allererstes Gastposting schreiben darf, und zwar für Mylanqolia! Ich bin leicht nervös – ich hoffe, ich kann den Ansprüchen der Leser hier gerecht werden. Ich möchte euch gerne ein wunderschönes Dunkelblau aus dem Standardsortiment von P2 vorstellen. Die Farbbezeichnung ist 541 “Night Out”.

Erstmal die Eckdaten:

Ich muss zugeben: Ich bin eigentlich ein Glitzermädel… Wenn ich in Nagellackfläschchen etwas funkeln sehe, ist es um mich geschehen. Aber: so eine schöne beruhigende Cremefarbe hat auch was für sich – vor allem für Herbst und Winter, wenn sowieso kaum Sonne da ist, die Glitzer zum Leben erwecken würde. Außerdem eignen sich Cremefarben hervorragend als Grundfarben für…? Glitzer-Top Coats natürlich! Das dritte Bild zeigt, was ich meine!

Also, zurück zu “Night Out”. Die Farbe würde ich als gedecktes gräuliches Dunkelblau bezeichnen – perfekt für den Herbst und Winter! Der Auftrag ist super (wie bei fast allen P2 Volor Victim Lacken) und ich brauchte nur 2 Schichten für das Ergebnis. Der Lack trocknet superschnell durch. Das Finish ist nicht superglänzend – aber eigentlich genau richtig. Für die Fotos habe ich weder Base- noch Topcoat benutzt. Das erste Bild ist im Schatten, das zweite in direktem Sonnenlicht aufgenommen.

Ich bin ziemlich beeindruckt von der Haltbarkeit: 3 Tage ohne Abblättern (das ist bei mir wirklich schon viel)! Einzig die Oberfläche sah nach 3 Tagen dann ein wenig stumpf aus – die richtige Gelegenheit, um “endlich” einen Glitzerlack drüberzupinseln! I habe eine Schicht Sinful Colors 831 “Hottie” benutzt und bin total hin und weg – sieht aus wie ein Nachthimmel mit Sternen! Sooo schön!

Ich liebe diesen Lack und werde ihn ganz bestimmt jetzt öfter tragen!

Mylanqolia’s Review on the Skeyeline Colour Wonder Eyeshadow Baked No. 5 [Eng/ Ger]

* Texture: dusty, soft, light, blendable, longlasting
* Pigmentation: average but buildable when applied dry (2 layers are needed to achieve an opaque result), very good when applied wet
* Experiences: Before I focus on the baked eyeshadow I have to utter a few words on the packaging. The quality of the plastic packaging can be classified as sturdy whereas the quality of the imprint is definitely very low. The silver letters started to come off extremely quickly although I only stored the eyeshadow on my desk (all tested products end up there because I forget about them otherwise), which is generally speaking quite disappointing. Well, I’m confronted with an inexpensive product so I can’t expect it to be flawless in every respect. Fortunately, the eyeshadow itself isn’t that bad. It behaves like a standard drugstore baked eyeshadow. Considering the application I prefer using a stiff brush to spread it all over my eyelids. It‘s the best way to avoid a blotchy result. Of course, I have to use a primer to improve its colour payoff and lasting power. However, signs of fading are obvious after some hours. To put this into perspective, it should be added that it’s only a slight fading. Otherwise I couldn’t find any further shortcoming considering the attributes of the eyeshadow. It’s easy to remove and doesn’t leave a pink stain on my skin. Moreover, I don’t react allergic to it. Ignoring the poor imprint, all in all I’m pleased with this particular eyeshadow and can’t wait to get hands on another shade.

* Erfahrungen: Bevor ich mich auf den gebackenen Lidschatten konzentriere, möchte ich einige Worte zur Verpackung äußern. Die Beschaffenheit der Plastikverpackung kann als stabil eingestuft werden, während die Qualität des Aufdrucks eindeutig minderwertig ist. Die silberfarbenen Buchstaben lösten sich äußerst schnell ab, obwohl ich den Lidschatten ausschließlich auf meinem Schreibtisch aufbewahrte (alle getesteten Produkte landen dort, weil ich sie sonst vergesse), was im Großen und Ganzen ziemlich enttäuschend ist. Nun, ich habe es mit einem günstigen Produkt zu tun, deswegen kann ich nicht erwarten, dass es in jeder Hinsicht makellos ist. Erfreulicherweise ist der Lidschatten an sich nicht schlecht. Er verhält sich wie ein gewöhnlicher gebackener Lidschatten aus dem Drogeriesegment. In bezug auf den Auftrag verwende vorzugsweise einen härteren Pinsel. Er verhindert nämlich ein fleckiges Ergebnis. Selbstverständlich muss ich eine Grundierung zur Verbesserung der Farbabgabe und der Haltbarkeit heranziehen. Dennoch werden nach einigen Stunden Anzeichen von Verblassen deutlich. Um dies zu relativieren, sollte erwähnt werden, dass es sich hierbei nur um ein leichtes Verblassen handelt. Ansonsten konnte ich keine weiteren Mängel, die Eigenschaften des Lidschattens betreffend, wahrnehmen. Er ist einfach und restlos zu entfernen, sodass keine pinkfarbene Verfärbung auf meiner Haut zurückbleibt. Darüber hinaus habe ich keine allergische Reaktion davongetragen. Alles in allem bin ich, den mangelhaften Aufdruck ignorierend, mit dem betreffenden Lidschatten zufrieden und kann es nicht abwarten, in den Besitz einer anderen Schattierung zu gelangen.

* Experiences: Since I’ve watched a youtube vid I was secretley lurking around the Bellapierre website craving for the shimmer powders. Although I’m no pigment advocate, I couldn’t suppress my interest in it. The swatches I‘ve often seen in youtube videos or on blogs were too promising. I told my sister about my product wish and seemingly she had pity on me. Thanks to my generous sister I’m the lucky owner of 3 green pigments. A base is mandatory if I’d like to enjoy the their advantages. They are easy to apply and adhere well to the primer. Nevertheless, a massive fallout is unavoidable. I can witness how the powder trickles down onto the lower part of my eye area and onto my nose but well, that phenomenon is the huge downside of every pigment. In addition, the pigments don’t fulfill the aforementioned promise to prevent fading. I could notice that all shades were slightly faded after some hours. Apart from that, I can’t find any other disadvantages. I really like those shimmer powders. Guess what! I even received compliments for my green eye make up from a sympathetic sales assistant at the Kiko store. Wicked!

* Erfahrungen: Seitdem ich ein Youtube Video gesehen habe, schlich ich heimlich um die Bellapierre Webseite herum und sehnte mich nach den Schimmerpudern. Obwohl ich keine Verfechterin von Pigmenten bin, konnte ich mein Interesse daran nicht unterdrücken. Die in Youtube Videos oder auf Blogs oft gesehenen Farbmuster waren einfach zu vielversprechend. Ich sprach mit meiner Schwester über meinen Produktwunsch und sie hatte anscheinend Mitleid mit mir. Dank meiner Schwester bin ich die glückliche Besitzerin von drei grünen Pigmenten. Eine Lidschattenbasis ist obligatorisch, wenn ich ihre Vorteile genießen möchte. Sie sind leicht aufzutragen und haften gut auf der Grundierung. Trotzdem ist ein massiver Niederschlag unumgänglich. Ich kann miterleben, wie der Puder auf den unteren Augenbereich und auf meine Nase herabrieselt, aber nun gut, das Phänomen ist der gewaltige Nachteil eines jeden Pigments. Zusätzlich erfüllen die Pigmente nicht das oben genannte Versprechen der Vermeidung des Verblassens. Ich konnte erkennen, dass alle Nuancen nach einigen Stunden leicht verblasst waren. Davon abgesehen konnte ich keine weiteren Minuspunkte finden. Ich mag diese Schimmerpuder. Ihr werdet es nicht glauben! Ich erhielt sogar für mein grünes Augen Make-up Komplimente von einer sympathischen Verkäuferin in der Kiko Filiale. Abgefahren!

Sexy Nude Lips & Some Glitter

Yay, I finally escaped from my monotone daily routine of wearing dull eye make ups. I appreciate neutral lips again that impress with their subtle and sophisticated appearance. My favourite combination of the week is the P2 Pure Color Lipstick 010 Rodeo Drive plus a layer of the Sexy LE by Dobner Cosmetics Lipgloss No.3.

It’s just perfect for me! If I don’t have the time for a full lip make up, I pick a glittery transparent lipgloss, e.g. my new Skeyeline Pimp Your Lips Volume & Gloss Lipgloss No. 8 Pink Art (the shade is meant to be a translucent pink but it’s tranparent when applied).

I have to say that I’m not very happy with it. I admit that the quite sticky texture is good. It’s longlasting, moisturizing and feels despite the small glitter particles very comfortable on the lips. Nonetheless, the smell is disgusting (the taste of it is comparatively bearable). I can’t exactly define the mixture of fragrances but it smells like a perfume for men is mingled with ordinary laundry detergent and grapefruits. In a nutshell, it’s utterly artificial. On top of that, it evaporates slowly,however, inhaling it is unavoidable in the first seconds. Yuck! If you’re related to Jean Baptiste Genouille, you’ll survive the breath of chemistry. Otherwise you should ignore this lipgloss if you have a good sense of smell. I‘ ll do so because I can’t stand extremely artificial scents. Do you like lip products with artificial scents, by the way? Also, what’s your favourite lip shade of the day/ week?

uchu, ich bin endlich meiner monotonen, täglichen Routine des Auflegens von glanzlosen Augen Make-ups entronnen! Ich schätze wieder neutrale Lippen, die mit ihrer subtilen und raffinierten Erscheinung beeindrucken können. Meine favorisierte Kombination der Woche besteht aus dem P2 Pure Color Lipstick 010 Rodeo Drive un einer Schicht des Sexy LE (Dobner Kosmetik) Lipglosses Nr.3 (die Farbe soll ein durchscheinendes Pink sein, doch sie ist aufgetragen transparent). Sie ist wie für mich geschaffen!

Wenn ich keine Zeit für das volle Lippenprogramm habe, greife ich zu einem glitzernden transparenten Lipgloss, beispielsweise zu meinem neuen Skeyeline Pimp Your Lips Volume & Gloss Lipgloss Nr. 8 Pink Art. Ich muss sagen, dass ich nicht sehr glücklich damit bin. Ich gebe zu, dass die ziemlich klebrige Textur gar nicht so schlecht ist. Sie ist langhaftend, feuchtigkeitsspendend und trotz der kleinen Glitterpartikel angenehm auf den Lippen. Nichtsdestoweniger ist der Geruch abstoßend (der Geschmack ist vergleichsweise erträglich). Ich kann die Geruchsmischung nicht genau bestimmen, doch sie duftet wie ein Männerparfum, das mit Waschmittel und Pampelmusen vermischt wurde. Kurz gesagt, ist sie völlig künstlich. Damit nicht genug, sie verfliegt langsam, sodass das Einatmen in den ersten Sekunden unausweichlich ist. Igitt! Falls Ihr mit Jean Baptiste Genouille verwandt sein solltet, werdet ihr den Hauch der Chemie überleben. Andernfalls solltet Ihr den Lipgloss ignorieren, wenn Ihr ein feines Näschen habt. Ich werde dies zumindest tun, weil ich keine extrem künstlichen Düfte ertragen kann. Mögt Ihr übrigens Lippenprodukte mit künstlichen Duftnoten? Nostalgia for the Sake of Using Up My Make Up Masses # 12 or Into the Blue Brown

Hiya my dear readers! How was your Christmas time? I hope you enjoyed it with your family and friends. But the party isn’t over yet. New Year is coming. Have you already planned how to welcome 2012 properly? Between you and me, I’m very excited about 2012. Perhaps it’ll be a more peaceful year with several surpises (only good ones). Of course, there’ll be war, crime, poverty, misery, violence, oppression, terrorism, racism, discrimination and further evils of the world but we don’t have to forget about the most valuable item of Pandora’s box. Hope is the opium of the people. Admittedly, make up is my drug but I suppose it isn’t new to you.

Before I start talking about one of my favourite topics I’d like to draw your attention to a few DIY projects that are designed for a lovely lady as birthday presents. Sadly, I haven’t found anything that corresponded to my idea of a perfect present so I became creative despite my chronic lack of time. The long sleeve T-shirt is hand painted and decorated with lace and a hand-sewn bow. The small bag that contains the hand made bracelet is hand-sewn as well. Even the little pink bows are handmade. I’m very proud of myself but I have to admit that my fingers are still hurting as I’m not very talented at sewing. Would I do it again? Yes, any time, but only for special people.

As I successfully ruined my mani during the creative phase I had to try out my new Skeyeline Studio Colour Nail Polish No. 5. The magenta isn’t my kind of colour but I’m pleasantly surprised by the thicker texture. The brush is a similiar to the one by the Maybelline Mini Colorama Nail Varnishes although a comparision shows that the one of Skeyeline is fairly shorter. The shade is opaque in one stroke. I’ve noticed that 2 coats will give a more even result. The formula needs around 30 mins to dry, which is not bad. Fortunately no bubbles occur in spite of the fine silver shimmer particles that create an interesting effect. I’m also pleased with the lasting power. It starts to wear off at the tips of my nails and to chip after one day without a top coat whereas it’s crystal clear that a top coat is the best way to preserve the nail varnish. I’m very sure to buy another shade of the Skeyeline Studio Colour Nail Polish selection. That’s why I can’t wait to go toWoolworth in January.

By the way, I don’t have to wait for a long wanted product anymore. Dshini.net has sent me my full-size MAC Pigment in Blue Brown. Habt Ihr bereits Pläne, wie Ihr 2012 gebührend empfangt? Unter uns gesagt, freue ich mich sehr über 2012. Womöglich wird es ein friedlicheres Jahr, das mehrere Überraschungen (nur gute) mit sich bringt. Natürlich wird es weiterhin Kriege, Verbrechen, Armut, Elend, Gewalt, Unterdrückung, Terrorismus, Rassismus, Diskriminierung und andere Übel dieser Welt geben, jedoch dürfen wir nicht das wertvollste Element der Büchse der Pandora. Hoffnung ist das Opium fürs Volk. Zugegebenermaßen ist Make-up meine Droge, doch ich vermute, dass Euch das nicht neu ist.

Bevor ich damit beginne, mich über eins meiner liebsten Themen auszulassen, möchte ich Eure Aufmerksamkeit auf einige Heimwerkerprojekte, die für eine liebe Dame als Geburtstagspräsente gedacht sind. Ich habe traurigerweise nicht gefunden, das meinen Vorstellungen von einem perfekten Geschenk entsprach, sodass ich trotz meines chronischen Zeitmangels kreativ wurde. Das Langarm-T-Shirt ist handbemalt und mit Spitze sowie einer handgenähten Schleife versehen. Ebenso ist das Täschchen, das handgemachte Armband enthaltend, handgenäht. Sogar die rosanen Schleifchen sind handgemacht. Ich bin ungemein stolz auf mich, aber ich muss gestehen, dass meine Finger ob meines fehlenden Nähtalents immer noch schmerzen. Würde ich es wieder machen? Ja, jederzeit, allerdings nur für besondere Menschen.

Da ich meine Nagelmake-up während der kreativen Phase erfolgreich ruinierte, musste ich meinen neuen Skeyeline Studio Colour Nail Polish Nr. 5 austesten. Das Magentarot entspricht so gar nicht meinem Beuteschema, doch hat mich die dickflüssigere Textur positiv überrascht. Der Pinsel erinnert an den der Maybelline Mini Colorama Nagellacke, wobei er im Vergleich minimal kürzer ausfällt. Der Farbton ist mit einem Strich deckend. Ich habe bemerkt, dass 2 Schichten ein ebenmäßigeres Ergebnis herbeiführen. Die Formel benötigt ca. 30 Minuten zum Trocknen, was nicht schlecht ist. Glücklicherweise treten trotz der feinen silbernen Schimmerpartikel, die für einen interessanten Effekt sorgen, keine Bläschen auf. Ebenfalls bin ich mit der Haltbarkeit zufrieden. Tipwear und Absplitterung treten erst nach einem Tag ohne Versiegelung mit einem Top Coat auf, wohingegen glasklar ist, dass ein Top Coat das beste Mittel zur Halbarmachung des Nagellacks ist. Ich bin mir sehr sicher, dass ich einen weiteren Farbton aus dem Angebot der Skeyeline Studio Colour Nagellacke käuflich erwerben werde. Darum kann ich es nicht abwarten, im Januar eine Woolworthfiliale zu besuchen.

Apropos, ich muss nicht mehr auf mein lang ersehntes Produkt warten. Dshini.net hat mir die Originalgröße meines MAC Pigments in Blue Brown zugeschickt.
